GLAD® Food Protection Tips for Fruit

How to store Avocados

Allow avocados to ripen at room temperature. Once ripe, whole avocados should be refrigerated. Avocado pulp contains an enzyme which causes the avocado to turn brown when in contact with the air. Keep the air out and the moisture in by tightly wrapping cut avocados in GLAD® ClingWrap, pressing the wrap against the flesh. GLAD® ClingWrap keeps your Avocados fresh up to 3x longer*

How to store Bananas

Separating individual bananas from the bunch makes them last longer. Placing a banana in a GLAD® Snap Lock Bag helps prevent browning and extends the lifetime. Refrigerating bananas will extend their life, but will cause the skin to turn black, however the fruit inside remains fine.

How to store Tomatoes

The secret to fresh, juicy tomatoes? Eat them quickly. Store whole tomatoes outside the fridge in a bowl wrapped in Glad® ClingWrap – it will keep them fresh up to 3x longer*. Refrigerate cut (and covered) tomatoes, but only for a short while — the cold causes flavour loss. Make sure your tomatoes are always fresh and good to go.
