Muesli Slice


This nutritious, healthy and delicious recipe for Muesli Slice makes a great addition to kids’ school lunchboxes!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried apricots, diced
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 60g butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablepoons brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
  2. In a large bowl mix together the oats, sunflower kernels, flour, apricots, sultanas and other optional ingredients if you've chosen to use them.
  3. Melt the butter or margarine, honey and brown sugar in the microwave for 1 minute and add to dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in the egg and milk until well combined.
  5. Line a lamington tin with MONO Baking Paper and bake for 15 minutes at 180 degrees C
  6. Once it’s cooled, you can slice it into appropriate sizes, and pop straight into GLAD’s Snap Lock snack bags to enjoy as a healthy snack at work or school.
