Make Messy...
One thing Rodari didn't realize, is that he was writing for everyone else aswell....imagination, from my view, should be encouraged in teenagers....actually....it should be encouraged in everyone!! And what's a very practical and useful and easy way to exercise this imagination? Cook! My friend I talked to just over 24 hours ago is a chef. Yupp. A real life sous chef....at 18!! So while SHE was talking about her latest concoction she invented today with her 'secret ingredients' and 'secret methods', the idea for today's 'tip' was born.
..
Get teenagers to cook!
Simple.
If you don't already have nights when they're responsible for cooking, make up a roster...or even just an agreement.
It'll be good for them to practice imagination, play around with recipes (or stick to them), enhance their cooking skills, you'll be giving THEM the responsibility, and maybe now they'll want to go grocery shopping with you even more!!
And if ya really want a challenge, whip up a big feast along side them. I'm sure it won't be as bad as Hell's Kitchen (Gordon Ramsey, you know...). Bonding time, and all. Sounds like sweet potatoes to me!
