Older by Age, Not by Looks!





Most people just give up, thinking that nothing can be done any more. So the first thing to do is to change your mental attitude. A positive outlook will help you seek solutions for turning the clock back. Of course, you will not straightaway return to your twenties; that would be expecting a little too much! But it would be nice to look at least ten years younger, or even twenty years younger, isn't it?Researchers have discovered the greatest enemies of the human body—free radicals. These free radicals enter your body via the foodstuffs that you consume.

These could be processed stuff, meats, certain baked goods or fast food. Free radicals have another entry point—polluted air that we inhale and contaminated water. Bad habits like smoking and drinking can also invite these chemicals into your body.

Now, we are not advocating that you stop eating the things you like, avoid travel, and so on. It is permissible to indulge in luxuries once in a while, but if you wish to have a healthy-looking skin, then follow a nutritious diet on a regular basis. Focus on fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and foodstuffs that are stocked up on Vitamin E or Vitamin C. They are rich in anti-oxidants that are vital for battling the free radicals within your body. There may be thousands of foods that contain anti-oxidants, but the above-mentioned are the best ones to consume.

If diet alone could solve the problem, then so many people would not lean towards exercise. The fact is that diet has to be combined with a regular exercise routine, to achieve maximum results. Considering that you are getting on in age, you would be well advised to go in for two kinds of exercise—aerobic exercises and weightlifting.

Where aerobic exercises are concerned, a regimen of 30 minutes each day should suffice. You can take up these exercises for three days in a week, and perform weightlifting exercises on the remaining three days. Weightlifting exercises should also be performed for 30 minutes each time. These exercises will ensure that you rebuild the muscle mass that you have lost due to aging. Lack of muscle mass can make you prone to varied medical conditions and diseases.
