Baby Shower Treats

Nappy Party Favour Cups... Great to hold mini candies or nuts and as a take-home gift for guests . Make these adorable party favours and get ready for oooohs and aaaaahs from all the guests at the baby shower ! These also make wonderful mementos at baby's christenings, too. This unique party favour was created by a great group of ladies that have been meeting once a week for years crafting items for their children , homes, schools, parties and gifts. Eventually their children grew-up but these ladies continued to meet, the crafts changed to sewing projects... and the rest of the story in Diane Puckette's own words: "We used to call our night out Stitching Night, then I'm afraid we started calling it Stichin/Bitchin Nite, then I got a hot tub which we use some nights when we met and my kids started calling it "Stitchin Bitchin Swimming Women" and it kind of stuck... Diane's Instructions:

Use cocktail-sized serviettes and fold down the corner about three-quarters of the way to the opposite corner and press down. Fold the side pieces until it resembles a nappy. Pull up the bottom piece and pin with a small-sized gold safety pin. Melt paraffin wax (found in the supermarket) in a double boiler (or use two slightly different sizes of old saucepans). Use metal tongs to hold the nappy by the back side and dip in the wax thoroughly coating all surfaces. Gently shake off excess melted wax and stand the nappy up on a wax-paper lined cookie sheet. The nappies take about 20 minutes to dry. Fill with peanuts or mints and listen to all those oohs and aaahs!
