Friends

I am aware that to have a friend , I must be a friend . I am grateful for my friends . People come into our lives at different times, for different reasons. Some people are acquaintances - They were the kids in school that we knew, but we never really "clicked" with. They are the neighbours that we wave to in the morning on our way to work. They are the people that we work with, but we do not feel compelled to form a special bond with. All of our acquaintances play a valid and important role in our lives; however, today's topic of discussion is about .

Good !

Good are people that we meet and form a more lasting bond with. Quite often, they become our friends for life, but this is not always the case. Whether we are 10, or 50+, a friend is a friend. And we know when someone is a true friend.

The bonds that we form with our Good are deep, with plenty of dimension. We feel comfortable in their presence and they in ours. We like to do things with them. We break bread with them and spend time with them. We share our dreams with them. We laugh and cry with them. We are happy for them when they succeed, and they are happy for our successes, also. They know us, and we know them. We keep their secrets, and they keep ours. We love them for who they are, and they love us. We don't judge them, we are there for them, and we know and trust that they are there for us, also.

teach us many things. And we teach them. We learn about relationships - the give, the take, the honesty and the respect, the communication, the trust and the "balance"... and along the way to being a Good Friend, we learn many things about ourselves.

A Good Friend doesn't have to talk to us every day. A Good Friend doesn't have to see us too often. A Good Friend is always in our hearts, no matter where they live. There may be a gap of many years, decades in fact, before we are able to get together again, but the instant rapport always picks up exactly where it left off. This is because the bond we have established with them transcends time and space.

Stop for a moment here, and think about the relationships that you have with your friends. If all of your relationships are casual, and you feel you would like to establish a closer, deeper, longer lasting link wit
