KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Set Review - Authentic Italian Pasta In A Jiffy
In our household, Italian food was always the default meal when I could not think of anything else to cook. Now that I have the KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Set, Italian food is an event, one that everyone wants to enjoy. The KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Set has made a real difference in my cooking, the way my family eats, and I want to tell you a little about this product. The KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Set is a set of chrome-plated appliances that plug right into the front of your KitchenAid stand mixer. By using the homemade pasta dough that you make in your mixer, you can easily use the KitchenAid motor to run the dough through these appliances, making instantly fresh pasta that is ready to cook.

If you have never enjoyed real fresh, homemade pasta, then you really have no idea what Italian food is all about. As soon as I started turning out my own fettuccini and lasagna noodles, my family couldn't wait for "Italian night". In fact, it seems like we are having Italian food more often than not these days as they want to try all the different types of pasta that this set turns out.
The KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Excellence Set includes a versatile array of tools for making every kind of pasta, including a ravioli attachment so you can make your own exotic, creative ravioli. Although I do have to say that the ravioli cutter isn't as quite straightforward to use as the other attachments. It is a manual, rather than automatic attachment, though I guess that makes sense. It took me quite a few goes to get to a stage where I was making ravioli that I was happy with, and I have heard that some other people have struggled with the ravioli attachment as well.
Having the Kitchenaid do all the cranking is great - and the Spaghetti maker actually makes ROUND spaghetti, not just tagliatini type little flat noodles. The pasta that you will get out of the KitchenAid KPEX Pasta Set is nothing like what you buy in the grocery store - that is a guarantee!
It is also important to read the instructions thoroughly. When I first started using the KPEX pasta excellence set the attachments kept turning round and round. It was only after reading the instructions properly that I realized that you have to insert each attachment far enough into the mixer so that the little pin on the pasta maker fits into the notch near the tightening screw. IF you don't do that, it will go around and around.
