Christmas Letters for Kids

Over the past few years there has been a surge of sites offering this letter from Santa service. The idea is that your children can now receive a personalised letter from Santa Claus himself, via the post. Having used a web site in the past I think it is a great idea. The idea of personalising the letter gives it that extra special magical feeling for young children.   The sites offering this service use a standard approach. A series of questions are asked relating to your child, their name, their best friend, their pets name, what they want for christmas etc.

. A letter template is used to construct a personalised letter to your child mentioning their name, their  chosen present, their pet and so on.

A letter might read like the following;

Dear Jack,

I was talking with the elves today and they mentioned what a good little boy you have been this year. I was also pleased to hear your best friend Harry has been a good boy too. The elves tell me that for Christmas the present you would most like is a bicycle. I will have to see what I can do, the helpers are busy working hard.

Mrs Christmas is tired at the moment she has been working very hard. All the reindeer are excited about coming to your house in Birmingham. Its quite a long journey but I’m looking forward to it.

Rudolph is looking forward to seeing your dog scruff again, they had some fun together last year.

Anyway I must get on. I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year

Best wishes

Santa

Ps Don’t forget to leave me a mince pie and a glass of sherry and please don’t forget a carrot for Rudolph – he does love them.

The letters themselves are usually very colourful and have a definite Christmas theme. They are usually delivered in red envelopes and typically have a Lapland or North Pole style post mark just to add to the authenticity.
