Fur Patrol- Collider Music Review

Category: NZ Soundz Artist: Fur Patrol Album: Collider S ince the early days of university orientation and small town pub gigs Fur Patrol have always known how to rock a place out and with the release of their album Collider they`ve taken things to a whole new level. This album displays a heavier rock sound then Fur Patrols previous album €˜Pet`. But it`s all balanced out with a few tasteful slower songs here and there. Opening tracks €˜Precious` and €˜Get Along` are crammed with guitar distortion which I don`t think is entirely necessary in some parts of the tracks but both are great grunty rock songs regardless.

Lead singer Julia Deans still knows how to confidently dish out the slower rock tunes with €˜Enemy` and €˜Into The Sun` but the real musical growth of Fur Patrol becomes apparent whilst listening to €˜Someone You Really Want` and €˜Art of Conversation`. Fur Patrol has heightened to become one of the top NZ bands in 2004 and just because they are now firmly based in Melbourne doesn`t make them Aussies!!

Any NZ music buff would probably already have this Cd in their collection so why not spread the love and purchase it for one of your friends and family overseas. There`s nothing like introducing the world to great NZ music! --Deedz
