Gumboots - Ladies Fashion Gumboots

Gumboots are the new fashion statement for the discerning English gal! 'Seriously Kymmage' she said 'they have fashion gumboots in all different colours and designs'. None of that drab black gumboots for an English rose... But then imagine my surprise, when not two weeks later I spot a fashion gumboot in Hannahs here in NZ. The gumboots are one of the latest releases for the Pulp shoe range. Known as 'Swingin' in the Rain', the boots come in pink and green and have a fun psychedelic flower-child design. The price tag isn't too bad either, at $49.

But are they wearable? The boots themselves are moulded to look more like a riding boot and have a small heel. While pretty, I'm just not sure they are practical - in such striking colours I can't imagine any outfit they would go with in my wardrobe! With this in mind, I asked a few other lovely ladies what they thought of the new fashion gumboot....and the reaction I got was unfortunately similar to mine.

We just can not see the fashion gumboot in our wardrobe. While one would make an interesting conversation piece sitting on your mantel piece, two paired with a black skirt or a pair of indigo jeans might stop traffic for all the wrong reasons.

However, don't let my opinion stop you from seeking out these new fashion must-haves and giving them a go. At least try them on and see how they feel!
